Brian Wilhite Named to Sacramento County Commission on Adults and Aging

Brian Wilhite MSW, the resident liaison for Carlton Plaza of Elk Grove, has been appointed by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors to the Commission on Adults and Aging.

“Wilhite’s dedication to improving the lives of seniors was an important consideration in his appointment to the commission,” said Don Nottoli, Sacramento County District 5 supervisor. “His social work experience reflects a consistent pattern of helping others. As a professional working full time in senior living, his knowledge and expertise will serve to assist the commission as they review and consider issues affecting adults and seniors in our community.”

Wilhite has been a social worker for more than 16 years, including work with the chronically mentally ill and homeless population in Sacramento County, and parolees with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He has worked as a resident liaison for Carlton Senior Living for almost five years. In that role, he assists new residents in the transition to senior assisted living.

Wilhite completed his Bachelor of Social Work degree at California State University, Sacramento in 2010 and his Master’s Degree in Social Work at CSUS two years later. He supervises social work interns that are referred by CSUS and is a frequent guest lecturer on college campuses. He will begin teaching as an adjunct professor in the Department of Social Work at CSUS in the fall.

“As I say to people whenever they ask me to describe my job: I leave my home every day to spend the day with my family at Carlton Plaza of Elk Grove,” said Wilhite.
