(City of Elk Grove)

July 16, 2020

Housing production is a critical issue both statewide and within Elk Grove. Every eight years, the City is required to update its plan for housing production, including identifying sites around the City that could be built at appropriate densities to support a range of household incomes.

On July 27 and again on July 29, the City will be hosting online town hall meetings to discuss the 2021 Housing Element Update. Community members are encouraged to attend one of these workshops to learn more about:

  • What the Housing Element is and what it does
  • State requirements for the Housing Element
  • How we plan for households of all income levels
  • Existing and candidate multifamily housing sites

After the presentation, staff will be available to answer your questions. Send your questions in advance of the meeting and have them addressed first by emailing townhall@elkgrovecity.org.
