Newsom signs bill on regional housing and homelessness policy (fox40.com) — Elk Grove will join Sacramento County cities in a new joint powers authority focused on housing and homelessness, following Gov. Newsom's signing of a regional coordination bill. The authority, expected to be in place by 2028, aims to give Elk Grove and neighboring cities clearer roles and shared responsibility for moving people into stable housing.
