• Supreme Court rejects Wilton Rancheria's union appeal (elkgrovenews.net) — Elk Grove residents following Sky River Casino's labor fight should know the U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear Wilton Rancheria's appeal, leaving in place a ruling that backs workers' path to union representation. The decision strengthens UNITE HERE Local 49's push for a first contract, even as Mayor Bobbie Singh‑Allen has declined to support employees' organizing efforts at recent council meetings.
   

• Behind-the-Scenes Look at Waste Facility (egcitizen.com) — Elk Grove residents can safely dispose of household hazardous waste at the City's Special Waste Collection Center on Disposal Lane, highlighted during a recent Elk Grove 101 tour. The program shows how items are handled, recycled, or disposed of properly, and reminds locals never to put hazardous materials in regular garbage and to use the free drop-off option instead.
   

• Department Graduates New Firefighters (egcitizen.com) — Eight new Cosumnes Fire Department firefighter-paramedics have graduated in Elk Grove and are now reporting to stations across southern Sacramento County, boosting local emergency response capacity. After a 22‑week academy funded in part by Measure E, they're trained in both firefighting and medical care to better serve Elk Grove and nearby communities.
