• Elverta man charged in Utah funeral shooting (riolindaonline.com) — An Elverta man is fighting murder and weapons charges in Utah after a deadly January shooting outside a Salt Lake City funeral, arguing he acted in self-defense. A judge has agreed to fully consider his claim, and prosecutors must now prove the shooting was not justified before the case can move forward at a November hearing.
