Two local gas stations are selling gas at reduced prices as part of a signature drive for a campaign that aims to reverse fuel taxes.

ENCINITAS, CA – An Encinitas gas station is one of two local gas stations selling gasoline at reduced prices Monday as part of a signature drive for a campaign that aims to reverse recently enacted fuel taxes.

Gas prices will be lowered to $2.49 per gallon between 7 and 9 a.m. at the Mobil gas station at 310 Encinitas Blvd. Customers filling their tanks will have an opportunity to sign a petition for a ballot referendum to repeal the new taxes.

Elsewhere in North County, the Shell station at 2509 Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad will sell gasoline for $1.99 per gallon between 3 and 6 p.m.
