Efforts to flatten the curve are proving to be effective and on Friday, April 24, 2020 the Coastal Rail Trail and the walking path on Highway 101 will reopen. It is important that everyone using the trail and walking path exercise safely.

When exercising outside please:
- Maintain social distance. The recommended minimum distance to keep between others is six feet.
- Facial coverings strongly recommended.
- Keep moving, it is important that people continue to move to avoid congestion and congregating.
- Travel on the right and pass on the left to avoid contact with people moving in an opposing direction.
- Refrain from gathering.
- Provide others plenty of space.
- Please do not use the trail if you are sick.
Anyone not complying to the San Diego County health order may be cited and facilities may need to be closed.

Many other City recreational amenities are open, such as:
- Parks remain open for walking and jogging (active areas and parking lots remain closed).
- All trails are open (except for trails located at Manchester Preserve which was closed by the Center for Natural Lands Management).
