Encinitas Dog Park, Sports Fields Closed Due to Rain

ENCINITAS, CA – A dog park and sports fields in Encinitas were closed Monday due to the rain.

To prevent damage to the turf, city officials said the playing fields at Cardiff Sports Park and Ecke Sports Park will be closed until the rain stops and playing surfaces dry out. The Leo Mullen synthetic turf soccer field, however, will remain open.

The Maggie Houlihan Memorial Dog Park at Encinitas Community Park was also closed due to the rain.

City officials said both the dog park and sports fields will reopen as soon as conditions approve.
