Encinitas: Heavy Rains - Sand And Bags Available

Heavy rains are expected to begin today and continue through tomorrow. Sand is available at Fire Station 3, located at 801 Orpheus, and bags are on site for residents to fill and take with them. This offering is free to Encinitas residents and is available until all the sand at Fire Station 3 has been taken. Please be prepared to fill the bags yourself as there is no attendant on site. The sand can be found behind the Fire Station 3 structure and those that will take advantage of this offer are encouraged to drive up the driveway directly; there is no need to check in. Please do not take more than you feel will satisfy your needs to ensure sand and bags will be available for as many people as possible.

If additional information is needed please call the Encinitas Department of Public Works at 760-633-2650. As always, Public Works crews will be available and ready to alleviate issues related to flooding or fallen trees as they occur.
