Standard pedestrian crosswalks will be eliminated where pedestrians can enter the intersection together with vehicles. After construction of the scramble crosswalks is completed, pedestrians and vehicles will no longer be allowed to cross or drive through these intersections at the same time. These intersections will operate with multiple vehicle-only traffic signals and one pedestrian-only signal. The new pedestrian-only traffic signal will be longer than the current available crossing time to allow for safe/comfortable diagonal crossing.
Proper signage and crosswalk striping, as well as additional pedestrian count-down signals and push buttons will be added for diagonal crossing at these locations. Please proceed carefully in this area during construction. Thank you!
