UPDATE: Hundreds Without Power In Encinitas

BREAKING: San Diego Gas & Electric is reporting multiple power outages in and around Encinitas.

ENCINITAS, CA – About 35,000 homes and business across San Diego County are without power Friday due to storm-related utility equipment problems, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.

Among the outages, SDG&E is reporting multiple power outages in and around Encinitas on its outage map.

The first outage started at started at 11:11 a.m., affecting 457 customers in Encinitas, Cardiff and Olivenhain. By early afternoon, only four customers were left without power, with SDG&E estimating that the power will be restored by about 4 p.m.

SDG&E is now reporting three other outages in and around Encinitas, however.

A second outage started at 2:06 p.m., affecting 2,377 customers in Encinitas, Cardiff, Olivenhain, Carlsbad and La Costa. SDG&E estimates the power will be restored by about 5 p.m.

A third outage started 2:07 p.m. and a fourth outage started at 2:16 p.m., affecting a total of 410 customers in Encinitas, Cardiff and Olivenhain. SDG&E estimates the power will be restored by about 5 p.m. for both outages.

The causes of the outages are being assessed. No other information is currently available.
