The Power of Parenting Family Forum

The popular forum, “The Power of Parenting: Learning to Listen & Listening to Learn,” takes place on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in the Media Center at San Dieguito High School Academy, 800 Santa Fe Drive in Encinitas. The forum is from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm.

The evening will feature a presidential style debate format using prepared questions in addition to questions from the audience. A panel of high school students, alumni, professionals and school psychologists will focus on fostering effective parenting and communication skills to create a more rewarding experience during the high school years.

Panelists include Ms. Kristin Singh, school psychologist who has worked in the San Dieguito High School district since 2005; Ms Leslie Salazar-Carrillo, board certified instructor of Building Family Connections workshops who trains parents, adult family members and caregivers with long term strategies to connect and communicate with youth; Ms. Monic Mojonnier, local parent and SDA alumni who will speak from her perspective as an interested and active parent; Taylor Eaton, writer and publications specialist at a local company. Ms. Eaton is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and San Dieguito Academy. SDA students will provide their perspectives.
