Rose is pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She’s a 4-year-old, 47-pound, female, Pit Bull / Boxer mix.
Rose was a stray in in the Imperial Valley before she was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) program.
She’s a little bit shy when she first meets people, but Rose warms up right away. After that, she will give kisses if it’s alright with you.

Special note.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Pets left behind by Domestic Violence victims are likely to become the new victims. Rather than make their pets the targets, human victims stay.
During this Domestic Violence Awareness Month your Rancho Coastal Humane Society reminds you that the Animal Safehouse Program is the safety net for the pets of Domestic Violence.
Battering is almost never an isolated incident. Once someone batters, they're going to do it again and it's going to get worse.
If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, let the Animal Safehouse Program be the safety net for your pet. Contact Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 760-753-6413 or log on to www.sdpets.org.
