SANDAG to Host Open House Re: North Coast Corridor Project
Attendees will have the chance to learn about construction activities and discuss the details with SANDAG and Caltrans staff.

ENCINITAS, CA --SANDAG and Caltrans are inviting the public to attend an open house regarding highway, rail, bike/pedestrian and environmental enhancements that are part of the first phase of the North Coast Corridor (NCC) Program, known as “Build NCC.”
The community meeting's scheduled for 8 pm Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at the San Dieguito Academy, located at 800 Santa Fe Dr., Encinitas, 92024.
Attendees are expected to have the opportunity to learn about construction activities, view project displays, and discuss project details with SANDAG and Caltrans staff.

Among the planned components of Build NCC are:
- Fourteen miles of carpool lanes on Interstate 5 (I-5) between Solana Beach and northern Carlsbad;
- Two-and-a-quarter miles of new double track across the San Elijo and Batiquitos lagoons;
- Replacement of the four highway and rail bridges across the San Elijo and Batiquitos lagoons;
- Two new separated bike and pedestrian paths at the I-5/Encinitas Boulevard and Santa Fe Drive interchanges;
- Ten miles of new North Coast Bike Trail to enhance bike and pedestrian mobility;
- Ten sound walls to improve the quality of life for people living near the freeway;
- Restoration of the San Elijo Lagoon;
- More than 200 acres of enhanced or preserved coastal habitat
