Assault With Deadly Weapon Suspect Chased by Police

The suspect is now in custody.

An assault with a deadly weapon suspect led officers on a brief chase today in Encino, but no one was injured.

Police responded to a call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon near the San Diego (405) Freeway and Skirball Center Drive at 2:46 p.m., said Officer Bruce Borihanh of the Los Angeles Police Department.

``There was a very short pursuit,'' Borihanh said. ``The suspect is in custody. He pulled over and surrendered peacefully.'' The man's name, and the circumstances leading up to the chase, were not immediately released.
