Brush Fire Scorches Half An Acre In Encino
Firefighters made quick work of a grass fire in Encino Monday night.

ENCINO, CA — Firefighters knocked down a small brush fire Monday in Encino that charred about a half acre of grass, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The blaze near 16400 W. Burbank Blvd., just north of the Encino Creek, in the Sepulveda basin broke out just after 6 p.m., fire department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
The department sent 22 firefighters to the scene and it took them about 20 minutes to extinguish the flames, Stewart said.

Firefighters remained at the scene to mop up any hot spots that might spark, Stewart said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
