Volunteer with us to deliver meals at no cost to older adults in the San Fernando Valley.&nbsp; We are in need of volunteers Wednesdays and Thursdays.&nbsp; Volunteers pick up meals at 9:30am on their assigned day and volunteers typically deliver to about 8 seniors in the same neighborhood.&nbsp; Mileage is reimbursed.&nbsp; Contact volunteer@onegeneration.org if you are interested and able to help deliver weekday mornings.&nbsp; We are so appreciative of our dedicated volunteers! Join us&nbsp; on Saturday, September 26th from 9am to 4pm for the 2nd Annual Salute to Firefighters Festival benefiting the Widows, Orphans, &amp; Disabled Firefighter’s Fund. 15+ LAFD fire stations will compete head-to-head in a firehouse cook-off. And you'll have the opportunity to try it! This event also features a classic car show, live music, beer garden, firefighting demonstrations, and family activities. Admission is FREE. Tasting passes are available (and encouraged) ahead of the event. Please join us Saturday, September 26, at 3:00 p.m., for another free matinee concert presented by Chamber Music Palisades (CMP), featuring music by Bizet, Ibert, Fernandez, Joplin, and others. The concert will also present a piece by local composer Adrienne Albert.
Talented performers for this lovely afternoon of music are CMP co-founder/artistic director Susan Greenberg, (flute), Zack Borowiec (Oboe), Arthur Naito (Clarinet), and Christin Phelps Webb (Bassoon). Check out our website at cmpalisades.org for more details of the program.
This free performance will be held at Brentwood Presbyterian Church, 12000 San Vicente Boulevard, Los Angeles 90049. Reservations are not needed. The concert is sponsored in part by the Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles. Free parking is available in the church lot just north of Montana Avenue on the east side of Bundy.
