Man Steals $47,000 in Cash, Causes Crash and Eludes Police in Tarzana
Police are looking for the suspect who robbed someone of $47,000 in cash and fired several shots at the victim's car as he fled in Tarzana.

TARZANA, CA - A man who stole money the victim intended to use to buy a car, fired shots at the victim and crashed a car in Tarzana Wednesday as he eluded arrest.
The man, armed with a rifle, approached a man and went through his pockets, police said.
When he wasn't satisfied with the amount of money the victim had with him, the suspect went through his car and found $47,000 in cash, which the victim was carrying because he had plans to purchase a car, police said.

The suspect left with the cash and the victim chased after him. The suspect shot at the victim during the chase, police said.
The suspect crashed the vehicle about 5:25 p.m. in the 18000 block of Collins Street, near Lindley Avenue, according to Officer Sal Ramirez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

The man fled from the vehicle on foot, prompting officers to conduct a perimeter search for him in an area bordered by Hatteras and Oxnard streets and Reseda Boulevard and Etiwanda Avenue.
The perimeter was broken down about 10:10 p.m. and the suspect remains outstanding, police said.
A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
