Pregnant Woman, Man Injured In SF Valley Crash Near 405 Freeway
An emergency Cesarean was expected to be performed on the critically hurt 31-year-old woman, officials said.

VAN NUYS, CA – A 31-year-old pregnant woman suffered critical injuries and a 42-year-old man also was hurt when the car they were in slammed into a tree in Van Nuys early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
California Highway Patrol officers spotted the the 2:15 a.m. crash near the 405 Freeway south of Victory Boulevard.
On their arrival, they found pregnant passenger Yolanda Aguilera unresponsive, and the driver of the 2001 Toyota Corolla, Lorenzo Lopez, also injured inside the car, the CHP said.

"The female (Aguilera) had visible injuries to the left front portion of her head," the CHP said. "The driver (Lopez) sustained an obvious and severe broken right leg."'
Paramedics took them both to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where an emergency Cesarean was expected to be completed on Aguilera, who was in critical condition. Both Aguilera and Lopez are Glendale residents, according to media reports.

"Alcohol or drug intoxication does not appear to be a factor in this collision," the CHP said.
