Brush Fire Burns In Fallbrook
Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene into the morning.

FALLBROOK, CA – Firefighters battled a brush fire Tuesday in a secluded area of northern San Diego County.
The blaze, called the Vista Fire, sparked around 1:30 p.m. in the Via Del Lago area of Fallbrook, just north of the Santa Margarita River, according to Cal Fire. Fire officials initially reported the slow-moving, northward-spreading flames scorched 20 acres, but GPS mapping later showed the fire had burned only 12.5 acres.
Crews from Cal Fire and North County Fire responded to the remote area, which officials said was difficult to access. By 3:30 p.m., firefighters had stopped forward progress of the flames. As of 5:45 p.m., the blaze was 30 percent contained.
