Brush Fire Prompts Evacuation Warning In Pauma Valley
The blaze sparked off state Route 76 and Red Gate Road, near the La Jolla Indian Reservation in Pauma Valley, according to Cal Fire.

SAN DIEGO — Crews battled a brush fire near the La Jolla Indian Reservation in Pauma Valley Thursday afternoon.
The blaze, called the Red Gate Fire, sparked around 12:30 p.m. along state Route 76 and Red Gate Road, according to Cal Fire. By 1 p.m., the flames had spread about five acres.
The fire caused no reported structural damage or injuries, but San Diego County Sheriff’s Department briefly issued an evacuation warning for residents in the area.

The fire forced a closure of SR-76 between South Grade and Valley Center roads, according to Cal Fire.
