1. 12 dogs receiving emergency care after Escondido apartment fire (times-advocate.com) — An apartment fire at a senior living community on East Grand Avenue in Escondido led to the rescue and emergency care of 12 dogs at San Diego Humane Society's Escondido Campus. Humane officers and veterinarians evaluated about 25 pets for smoke inhalation, but none needed critical treatment. The rescued adult dogs and puppies are now safe in emergency boarding while owners and authorities sort out next steps.

3. 'Central Park' wins 'Wild Nature' Gold medal award - Escondido Times-Advocate (times-advocate.com) — Escondido artists and art lovers can celebrate as Esco Arts' new "Wild Nature" exhibition names John Cowan's watercolor "Central Park" its Gold Medal winner. The show, featuring a record number of North County artists in all media, opens during the Second Saturday Art Walk at the Esco Arts Grand Avenue Gallery on West Grand Avenue. Locals are invited to meet artists, view award-winning works, and explore Escondido's long-running art scene.

4. Very successful Grape Day festival - Escondido Times-Advocate (times-advocate.com) — Escondido residents turned out about 5,000 strong to Grape Day Park for this year's Grape Day Festival, despite intense heat and humidity. The family-friendly celebration featured grape stomping, local performers, and strong support from Brothers of 6 Charities and county leaders. Escondido History Center director Cynthia Castañeda was honored with a county proclamation, highlighting the festival's deep local roots and community backing.
