• Boo Bash Escondido: San Diego's New 100,000-Square-Foot Pumpkin Patch (kpbs.org) — Escondido families can look forward to the new Boo Bash Fall Festival at Mershops North County Mall, running weekly from September 18 through November 1 with long daily hours. The 100,000-square-foot attraction features a huge pumpkin patch, bounce pad, petting zoo, kids' racetrack, live music, movie nights, and more, with admission starting at $5 and extra activities available via credits.

• World Ballet Company's Premiers The Sleeping Beauty In Escondido - (thevistapress.com) — A new touring production of The Sleeping Beauty is coming to the California Center for the Arts in Escondido on February 21, giving local audiences a rare chance to hear Tchaikovsky's score performed live by an orchestra. World Ballet Company promises lavish costumes, immersive staging, and a family-friendly fairytale experience, and residents can already sign up online to get ticket details as soon as they're released.

• Escondido taqueria named one of New York Times '50 Best' restaurants in America (sandiegouniontribune.com) — An Escondido taqueria, Mesa Agricola on South Escondido Avenue, has been named one of the New York Times' 50 favorite restaurants in the country, spotlighting its farm-to-table tacos de guisados. The husband-and-wife team grow much of their own produce in nearby Valley Center and are now planning special dinners, including an October 3 event at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.
