Woman Struck By Car, Seriously Injured In Escondido
Medics took the woman, whose name was not released, to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening head injuries, police said.

ESCONDIDO, CA – An elderly woman was struck by a car and seriously injured while crossing an intersection in Escondido Tuesday, authorities said.
The driver, a 90-year-old man, was trying to make a left turn from southbound Escondido Boulevard onto Felicita Avenue when his vehicle hit the 89-year-old pedestrian shortly after noon, according to the Escondido Police Department. The woman was attempting to cross the street northbound on Escondido Boulevard across Felicita Avenue.
Medics took the woman, whose name was not released, to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening head injuries, Lt. Mike Kearney said.

Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the collision, Kearney said. An investigation is ongoing.
