Woman Succumbs To Injuries Sustained In Fight With Brother: Cops
The 27-year-old was hospitalized, but was "not expected to survive" following the incident last week in Escondido, officials said.

ESCONDIDO, CA – A 27-year-old woman passed away Tuesday from injuries suffered after an alleged altercation with her brother last week in Escondido, according to authorities.
Laura Elizabeth Bautista, died at about 9:40 p.m. at Palomar Hospital in Escondido following the reported assault on Friday on the 100 block of East 15th Avenue, the Escondido Police Department said.
Her 25-year-old brother, Jose Enrique Bautista, was detained at the scene on Jan. 18 and subsequently arrested for suspicion of attempted homicide, police said. Responding police and fire crews arriving at about 12:45 a.m. said they found Laura Bautista unresponsive.

She was transported to Palomar Hospital with officials saying at the time that her "injuries are severe, and she is not expected to survive."
"Initial information indicated Jose and Laura had been involved in a physical altercation stemming from a family argument," the department said.
