• Marin County firefighter quarters reopens following flea treatment (mercurynews.com) — Firefighters are once again operating around the clock from Fairfax's Fire Station 21 after flea abatement forced a temporary move to San Anselmo. The infestation, linked to raccoons at the community center and Peri Park, prompted a three-day closure, but town officials and the Ross Valley Fire Department say the Fairfax station is now fully back in service.
   

• 21 North Bay eateries receive $5,000 business grants (pressdemocrat.com) — A Fairfax favorite, Sorella Caffe, just received a $5,000 grant from the California Restaurant Foundation to upgrade equipment, technology, or staff training.
