Fairfield police say foul play involved in Chantel Brooks' disappearance (abc10.com) — Fairfield police now say they suspect foul play in the disappearance of 36-year-old Chantel Brooks, last seen at a CVS on East Travis Boulevard after leaving work in San Francisco. Investigators have executed numerous searches and are urging anyone with information to contact Fairfield police or submit an anonymous tip by phone or email.

3. Inmate runs from Fairfield courtroom, captured after brief foot chase (kioncentralcoast.com) — An inmate briefly escaped a courtroom at the Fairfield Courthouse Tuesday afternoon, knocking down a deputy district attorney before being quickly caught by deputies and police already on scene, according to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office. Officials say the man, Darian Leon Guerrero, now faces additional felony charges, with his next court date set for September 1.

Pregnant Hayward woman yelled at boyfriend for smoking marijuana near her, so he shot at her, police say (mercurynews.com) — A Sacramento man accused of shooting at his pregnant girlfriend in Hayward was arrested two days later in Fairfield and has since been released on GPS monitoring. While awaiting his next court hearing, he’s required to attend trade school, mental health treatment, and Narcotics Anonymous meetings under court supervision.
