About Berryessa Gap: In 1969 the forebearers of Berryessa Gap began cultivating and selling dormant rootstock and grafted vines grown in the rich soils found along Putah Creek on the outskirts of Winters, California a small rural community nestled in the coastal foothills approximately 30 miles east of Napa and 30 miles west of Sacramento. The winery’s Coble Ranch Vineyard, planted over a decade ago, occupies former sheep grazing land that once produced champion rams. The vineyard is now producing award winning wines, including 2008 Rocky Ridge Tempranillo, a San Francisco Chronicle Top 100 wine as well as traditional California Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. Berryessa Gap’s tasting room hours at 15 Main Street in downtown Winters are Thursday 4:30pm-8:30pm, Friday 11:30am-8:30pm, Saturday 11:30am-8:30pm, and Sunday11:30am-4:30pm. The winery tasting room is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11am-4pm and by appointment. Please visit our website for more information: www.berryessagap.com
About Preserve: Preserve Public House is a dynamic addition to historic downtown Winters. We look to preserve and promote the story of self reliance and sustainability through food and drink. Well placed grains of salt give way to cured meats, fresh milk is transformed into cheese, grapes are coaxed into wine and grain is bubbled into beer. The individual artistry and wisdom involved in these practices was once considered common knowledge. We aim to preserve these skills by creating a market place to showcase those who are diligently protecting these traditions all over Northern California. The well being of friends and family motivated those who originally discovered these clever acts of evading the short shelf life of nature’s bounty. It is within this establishment, we hope that you can take the time to grab a handcrafted sandwich, have a drink, watch a game and enjoy the simplistic luxuries with those people that make your life what it is. Preserve the good life!
