BERRYESSA GAP VINEYARDS ANNOUNCES RE-OPENING OF NEWLY REMODELED TASTING ROOM - OPEN HOUSE SATURDAY DEC 1ST

Berryessa Gap Vineyards, an award winning boutique winery in Winters, CA has recently completed an expansion and remodel of their tasting room in Historic Downtown Winters.  Initially opened to the public in September 2004, the tasting room was a small quaint storefront in a former meat market.  The tasting room was initially opened Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm-8pm and locals managed to buy out the first two commercial releases of Berryessa Gap wines from the shop.  As the wine industry has grown in and around Winters, the tasting room added hours and days and is currently opened Thursday-Monday.  With growing crowds visiting Winters and the Berryessa Gap tasting room the call came to increase the space available for patrons to use to taste wines and learn about the winery.

The newly remodeled tasting room has nearly doubled the space available for tasting and has a nice lounge area added as well.

Berryessa Gap is hosting an Open House with holiday and wine specials on Saturday December 1st from 11am - 8pm.  The evening hours will be especially festive as the town of Winters turns out for its annual holiday tree lighting.  Berryessa Gap will have live music by Caroline Hines from 6pm-8pm and light refreshments throughout the day.

About Berryessa Gap: In 1969 the forebearers of Berryessa Gap began cultivating and selling dormant rootstock and grafted vines grown in the rich soils found along Putah Creek on the outskirts of Winters, California a small rural community nestled in the coastal foothills approximately 30 miles east of Napa and 30 miles west of Sacramento.  The winery’s Cobel Ranch Vineyard, planted over a decade ago, occupies former sheep grazing land that once produced champion rams. The vineyard is now producing award winning wines, including 2008 Rocky Ridge Tempranillo, a San Francisco Chronicle Top 100 wine as well as traditional California Zinfandel and Petite Sirah.
