Christ Community Church: A Growing Carmichael Church
An Overview of Christ Community Church and what is offers Carmichael.
was established in 1961 by Dick Evers at a small bowling alley and moved to its current location at 5025 Manzanita Ave in 1982. It has grown to more than 1,000 members and continues to reach out to families and residents in the Carmichael community with its many programs and services.
The church preaches that they major in Love, Acceptance, and Forgiveness. As a member for more than five years now, I know this to be true and couldn't ask for a better church family. One of the things we hear all the time is how great the children's ministry is. Whether is it picnics for pre-schoolers, glow bowling for second graders or Pie-ing staff in the face for 6th graders, parents are always ranting about how much their children love Christ Community.
As well as children ministry's there are special services for junior high and high school students that are catered to the specific needs in their age group. The Jr. High group meets at 11 a.m. on Sundays and also has a Wednesday night group at 6:30 p.m. that meets every week called U-Turn led by Daniel Morris. The high school meets at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings as well as Tuesday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m., which is called Refuge and is led by Mark Kroeker.

They have three Sunday services that cater to both traditional and contemporary styles of worship. The early service is filled with hymns and a beautiful choir, while the contemporary service has a much more upbeat style with a full band. The head pastor Greg Alderman speaks at all three services and has his messages streamed online for those who cannot attend.
