Pet of the Week: The 'Happy and Loving' Abigail

Abigail came to the July 8 as a stray. A few days later, she had eye surgery, which resulted in the loss of her right eye. But that hasn't stopped this energetic, affectionate dog. 

She's been aged at 1 year old and loves to sit on laps, is treat-driven and easy to train. Abigail (or Abby) loves everyone she meets and isn't a barker, which is atpical for a terrior. 

"She's just a love bug," said dispatcher Laurie Badeker. "She loves kisses and is accustomed to a great deal of affection." 

The shelter will remove the eye stitches and cover the post-exam costs, officials said. 

"She stole all our hearts from the very beginning," Badeker said.
