Pup Takes Five Story Flying Leap From Balcony--and Lives

Lucy is a very determined lady. When she wants something, she goes after it. Unfortunately, this adorable pup was on her owner’s balcony five stories in the sky last month when she decided to leap for something she wanted.

She survived her landing but ended up with two broken front legs and a dislocated back leg.
Lucy’s human is Steve Austin, a disabled veteran who lives in housing reserved for Sacramento residents over age 55 on fixed incomes. Austin’s budget has been stretched beyond capacity by Lucy’s vet bills and the cab ride to get her to a veterinary surgeon. A gofundme page has been started to wipe-out the debt.

As for Lucy-- following a four-hour surgery to put screws and a metal plate in her legs, she’s expected to make a full recovery.
We’re hoping enough money is raised to pay her bill, and to buy her a sparkly collar. Then we can call her “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds!”
