β€’ Community remembers Bill Wright, longtime Santa Cruz High music teacher (santacruzsentinel.com) β€” Felton residents are mourning longtime Santa Cruz High music teacher Bill Wright, a Felton homeowner and former choir director at Felton Presbyterian Church, who died in May at 78. Former students and colleagues recall his patient, inspiring teaching and deep musical philosophy. A public celebration of life with live music and potluck is planned in Santa Cruz on July 19.

β€’ Growing Volunteerism in the Forest (tpgonlinedaily.com) β€” A Felton resident, Andrea Lee, is helping lead hands-on trail work at the Forest of Nisene Marks and Big Basin, using chainsaw skills she honed after the CZU fires. She and dozens of volunteers are clearing fallen trees and invasive ivy to restore native plants. Their group now draws about 50 people monthly and plans better maps and signage.
