• Suspect arrested in Mexico for I.E. shooting; his mother arrested for driving him there (ktla.com) — Deputies from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station helped investigate a June shooting in San Antonio Heights that left a man seriously wounded, ultimately tracking the 19-year-old suspect to Mexico. After months of work by Fontana detectives and federal partners, the suspect was arrested in Tijuana and returned to the West Valley Detention Center, while his mother faces charges for allegedly driving him across the border.
   

• Johnny Pinedo and Jeffrey Arredondo ID'd as Two Killed in Rialto Minivan Crash with Semi-Truck on I-210 (pacificattorneygroup.com) — A 21-year-old Fontana resident, Johnny Pinedo, was one of two passengers killed when a minivan crashed into a semi-truck on eastbound I-210 in Rialto early Sunday morning. The collision lodged the minivan under the trailer, shut down lanes for hours, and remains under investigation by authorities.
   

• Allegra Ramirez wanted more women to feel welcome in cybersecurity. So, she took the lead. (csusb.edu) — A young woman who grew up in Fontana is now leading the Women in Cybersecurity club and working as a cybersecurity apprentice at Cal State San Bernardino. Her journey from local robotics programs to national competitions shows how Inland Empire students can break into high-demand tech careers, while she mentors other women to feel welcome and confident in the field.
