Bomb Threats Received at Foster City Jewish School, Jewish Community Center in San Rafael
BREAKING: Both facilities evacuated. The threats were among many reported today nationwide, possibly in 17 states: Anti-Defamation League.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA – Bomb threats to Jewish community centers in Foster City and San Rafael were among many made across the country today, an FBI spokesman said this afternoon.
"The FBI and the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division are investigating possible civil rights violations in connection to threats to Jewish Community Centers across the country," FBI spokesman Prentice Danner
in San Francisco said.
"The FBI will collect all available facts and evidence, and will ensure this matter is investigated in a fair, thorough and impartial manner," Danner said.

The Anti-Defamation League said bomb threats were made at Jewish community centers in 17 states today.
The Osher Marin Jewish Community Center at 200 N. San Pedro Road in San Rafael and the Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School at 800 Foster City Blvd. in Foster City received a bomb threat by phone at 8:45 a.m.

Both centers were evacuated and searched but no suspicious devices were found.
The Osher Marin Jewish Community was released to staff at 11:45 a.m. and the Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School reopened at 11:30 a.m.
Marin County sheriff's Lt. Doug Pittman said the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center confirmed multiple Jewish community centers across the country received bomb threats.
Foster City police received the bomb threat, and the San Mateo County Bomb Squad responded to the Wornick Jewish Day School. School staff emailed parents to pick up their children at an alternate location.
The Marin County Sheriff's Office and the UC Berkeley Bomb Squad responded to the bomb threat received by phone to the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center.
Approximately 200 students from the Marin Jewish Community Center were taken to the Venetia Valley Elementary School at 177 N. San Pedro Road, Pittman said.
