Foster City Family Matters

A misplaced forgotten item and Foster City Spirit

It was a busy day of meetings and endorsement conferences. I was excited and energized by the outpouring of support. I changed gears and hit the ground running with my guitar to enjoy a quiet moment of music and jazz. It is my personal time and I am learning a new skill to add to my musical background.

The Style of Joe Pass and his ability to juggle melody, bass, and chord motif colorings have long mystified me. My teacher and I have been working to help me balance these different tonal needs much as I have to balance my public service, family, and business interest. Today is a good day I am in balance tonally and philosophically.

As I rush out of my musical safe-haven, I am off to City Hall to meet the City Manager to discuss several issues. I remember that I must get the car washed and pick up my son for a lunch date.

I leave the car wash and finally get home to realize I have forgotten something. In my haste I left my favorite guitar unattended at the car wash waiting area. I panic and rush back as quickly as the law permits, all the way hoping that it will still be there lonely and sad for my forgetfulness.

And there it is surrounding by folks waiting for their cars to be finished. The guitar sits untouched, unclaimed and not taken. I take a deep breath of relief and reflect on the luck that seems to have been bestowed upon me on this beautiful summer day.
