Gryphons Soccer Club Teams Celebrate Summer Tournament Success

About the Gryphons Soccer Club The Gryphons Soccer Club (GSC) is a nonprofit organization that promotes youth soccer on the San Francisco Peninsula in California. Players come from towns all over the San Francisco Peninsula, including Belmont, San Carlos, San Mateo, Foster City, Redwood City, San Francisco and the south bay. The GSC offers starter programs for the youngest of players (between 3 and 8 years old), as well as the Team Academy (for players over 8 years old). GSC '01 Boys Red Team

The Gryphons '01 Red boys team (U10) won the Santa Rosa United Academy Cup Tournament held in Santa Rosa between Sept 4 and 5. The team had an impressive showing, allowing only two goals in four games while scoring 14. The boys got through to the final game undefeated, and then took the final game 3-0 in a well-played game. GSC '01 Girls Red Team

The Gryphons 01G Red team were finalists in the U10 Gold Division in the 31st Annual Mustang Stampede tournament in Danville. The girls played impressively. They went undefeated in the preliminary, quarter and semi-final games with a 5-0 record and a 20-3 goal differential, until a tough finals match-up in a very close 0-1 game. GSC '02 Girls Red Team

The GSC '02 Red Girls team took second place at the 2011 Azuri Summer Classic tournament this year in July. This was the first ever tournament outing for this team, and the GSC was thrilled to see the girls showcasing their technical skills and already working on their possession-play as a team.
