HAIRSPRAY Presented by San Mateo High School

HAIRSPRAY,  musical that sweeps you away to 1960s Baltimore where the ‘50s are “so

out” and change is in the air, will be brought to life in the newly restored

SMPAC, for two weekends from January 31st – February 9th, 2014.

Tickets and Information at www.smhsdrama.org or 650 558-2375

Yes Baltimore
is her home,  but it can’t possibly
contain Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger passion –
to dance! It’s 1962 and Tracy wins a spot on the local TV dance program, “The
Corny Collins Show.” Overnight Tracy is transformed from outsider to
irrepressible teen celebrity. But can an unconventional trendsetter in dance,
music and fashion vanquish the program’s reigning princess, win the heart of
heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a television show without denting her
‘do?  Hairspray, winner of eight Tony

Awards including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical piled bouffant-high

with laughter, romance, and deliriously tuneful songs including smash musical hits “Good Morning, Baltimore”, “Mama,
I’m a Big Girl Now”, and “You Can’t Stop the Beat”.
