Peninsula Congresswoman Hosts Town Hall On 'Trump's Tax Scam'

The congresswoman is inviting local residents to the free event.

FOSTER CITY, CA - From Congresswoman Jackie Speier: Congresswoman Jackie Speier (CA-14) will host a town hall on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 7 p.m. to explain the impact of the new tax law on Californians. She will be joined by State Senator Jerry Hill, Assemblyman Kevin Mullin and Russell Stanaland, a tax attorney, Certified Public Accountant, and adjunct professor with expertise in estate planning, tax planning, and trust administration.

“Many of my constituents are unclear on how the new GOP tax law will affect them and this town hall is designed to bring some clarity,” Speier said. “What we do know is that 83 percent of the tax cuts will go to the wealthiest one percent, and that 86 million middle class households will ultimately see tax increases. The Trump Tax Scam drains the middle class dry to shower the richest individuals and corporations with cash. I find it unacceptable that hardworking Americans should pay to line the pockets of billionaires and millionaires.”
