The Foster City Community Chorus Wants YOU!
Rehearsals begin tonight for the new season of the Foster City Community Chorus, and the group is still in search of a few good singers to join the group. No experience is necessary!

Does watching Glee on TV with your child make you nostalgic for the days of school choir? Do you feel like the kids are getting to have all the musical fun?
If so, the Foster City Community Chorus (FCCC) may be your answer. This choir, run by the Peninsula Musical Arts Association (PMAA) in partnership with the Foster City Parks and Recreation Department, is open to adult residents of Foster City and the surrounding communities.
The FCCC is a community-based, performance-oriented vocal group that offers its singers a variety of musical literature ranging from classical to folk to contemporary. The chorus sings for community and civic events and presents public concerts in the spring and winter.

And, the best part is, no audition is required to join, and no experience is necessary. Organizers say, all you need is "a strong sense of commitment and dedication to the group." Under the direction of Paul Hurst, instruction in basic music theory and fundamental singing techniques is offered in a safe and comfortable environment, with support from other chorus members.
Founded in 1992, the group has performed more than 50 concerts to date.

Rehearsals for the winter season begin tonight, Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m. at , 841 Gull Ave. in Foster City. The winter season extends through mid-December and culminates in holiday concerts that emphasize Christmas and Hanukkah music. The spring season extends from January through May, with a break for summer.
Financially, FCCC survives on concert ticket sales, proceeds from corporate and private performances, and a small participation fee from singers. The participation fee is typically $95 per season - spring and winter - as well as purchasing performance attire.
If you'd like to explore FCCC and consider joining, visit the website to print out the registration form and bring it to tonight's rehearsal.
