Water Main Break in Foster City Affects 75 Homes

Permanent repair not expected for a few weeks.

FOSTER CITY, CA — A water main break affecting about 75 homes in Foster City was reported Wednesday morning, according to city officials.

The city's Department of Public Works responded to the leak in the area of Shooting Star Isle and started temporary repairs that required shutting off water to about 75 homes, city officials said.

The repair was still being conducted as of 11 a.m. The water supply will be restored once crews complete the temporary repairs, which is expected by the end of the day, according to the city.

A permanent repair on the water main will occur in a few weeks and residents will receive 48 hours notice if their home will be affected by the shutoff of water for the permanent repairs, city officials said.
