CalOptima Health expands Street Medicine Program across coastal Orange County (newsantaana.com) — Fountain Valley will be part of a new Coastal Cities Continuum bringing CalOptima Health's Street Medicine teams to unhoused residents across several coastal Orange County cities starting in mid‑2027. The program will deliver on‑site medical, behavioral health, and housing‑navigation services, aiming to cut emergency‑room use and create clearer paths into stable housing through coordinated, cross‑city care.
   

2. 2nd Measles Case Reported In Orange County, Officials Advise Caution (patch.com) — Health officials warn that anyone who visited UCI Health's Fountain Valley cafeteria during specified times on Aug. 11 and 14 may have been exposed to measles and should monitor for symptoms. The same infected adult also visited several Anaheim and Orange businesses, and residents are urged to confirm vaccination status, watch for fever or rash, and call a doctor before seeking in‑person care.
   

3. Santa Ana police arrest 69 in citywide enforcement sweep (ocregister.com) — Fountain Valley police officers joined Santa Ana and other agencies in a large Aug. 11 enforcement sweep that led to 69 arrests in areas with frequent complaints about drug use and trespassing. The operation, conducted entirely in Santa Ana near city borders, also generated 10 outreach referrals for services.
   

4. Newport Harbor, Corona del Mar kick off water polo season with 'Battle in the Bay' (modbee.com) — Corona del Mar's boys team has already hit the road to play at Fountain Valley, as both CdM and Newport Harbor launch their water polo seasons with the Battle in the Bay showcase. Newport's boys and girls squads, packed with talented freshmen and recent Junior Olympics standouts, look to defend their dominance while CdM leans on a tight-knit core that has grown up together in the pool.
