The company says this Orange County location will be its first in California since the pandemic closures and could pave the way for more statewide openings, though no additional sites are confirmed yet.
2. Surging Fountain Valley finishes strong against Woodbridge for second straight league win - (ocsportszone.com) — Fountain Valley High's football team just notched its second straight league win, beating Woodbridge 45-21 behind a huge night from quarterback Isaac Combs and receiver Drake Robinson. The Barons, now 4-3 overall and 2-0 in league, shook off early mistakes, dominated the second half, and are eyeing a strong finish with three games left.
3. Souplantation is planning to return to California in 2027 after a six-year absence (qz.com) — Fountain Valley is set to host Souplantation's first California comeback location in 2027, with a 7,800-square-foot restaurant planned at 11179 Talbert Avenue. The revived chain, now under new ownership, promises to bring back fan-favorite recipes and could use this Orange County opening as a springboard for additional California sites.
4. Sex Offender Gets More than 39 Years for Assaulting 8 Victims (mynewsla.com) — A convicted sex offender who previously exposed himself to youths at a Boys and Girls Club in Fountain Valley has been sentenced to more than 39 years in prison for a series of assaults around Santa Ana. The judge cited his disruptive courtroom behavior, prior convictions, and lack of credibility about alleged trafficking as reasons for imposing the maximum term and lifetime sex-offender registration.
