BREAKING: Suspect Shot by Santa Ana Police Outside Courthouse

The man was wounded in an officer-involved shooting, police said.

SANTA ANA, CA — A suspect was injured during an officer-involved shooting at the Santa Ana Civic Center on Monday morning. The incident occurred near the courthouse area, according to Orange County Fire Authority public information officer, Lt. Larry Kurtz.

A 20-year-old male suspect was wounded outside of the courthouse area, according to Kurtz.

"He was taken to Orange County Global Hospital," Kurtz said.

According to reports, gunfire broke out at the 600 block of North Ross Street at approximately 9:30 a.m. There is no information yet as to what initiated the shooting or the circumstances in which the suspect was shot.

According to reports from ABC7, no officers were injured in the shooting.
