Construction Crew Ruptures Gas Line Causing Street Closure in Anaheim
A construction crew working on Orangewood Avenue accidentally broke through a gas line according to reports. Anaheim police were on scene.

ANAHEIM, CA—A construction crew accidentally ruptured a gas line today, causing a leak that shut down a stretch of Orangewood Avenue for about two hours.
The line was damaged just before 10 a.m. while a construction crew was digging in the 2200 block of Orangewood, Anaheim police Sgt. Luis Correa said.
A Southern California Gas Co. crew finished making repairs just after noon, and Orangewood from Rampart Street to State College Boulevard was reopened to traffic.

"The leak was small and did not pose a risk to public safety," said SoCalGas spokeswoman Rosa Maria Santana.
Gas company officials remind contractors to call 811 before digging so they can avoid rupturing a line.
