Fountain Valley PD Find Drugs and a Gun During Traffic Stop

Officers found drugs and a handgun when they stopped a vehicle in Fountain Valley for a traffic violation, police said today.

The vehicle driven by 28-year-old Dong Min was pulled over near Ward Street and Slater Avenue at 8:42 p.m. Tuesday, said Sgt. Ted Valle of the Fountain Valley Police Department.

As officers continued speaking, they saw what appeared to be a small amount of illegal narcotics inside the car.

After a thorough search, the officers located more than a quarter-pound of methamphetamine with a street value of $11,280, two ounces of marijuana valued at $820 and a loaded 9 mm handgun, Valle said.

Min was booked for possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sale, possession of more than an ounce of marijuana and being a convicted felon in possession of firearm.

Bail was set at $25,000.
