Fountain Valley: Why Recycle Used Oil?

Used Oil contains heavy metals and other toxic contaminants that cause pollution if poured down the drain, on the ground, to surface waters, or dumped in the trash. Recycled oil can be re-refined as lubricating oil again, used as an alternative fuel, or used in the production of asphalt and tar.

Used oil contaminated with water, debris, or fuel cannot be recycled. Take contaminated oil, gasoline, coolant/antifreeze, other auto fluids, solvents, paints, cleaners, chemicals to an OC Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center for Free disposal. For locations and times, visit OCLandfills.com
