Fountain Valley: Why Recycle Used Oil?

Used oil contaminated with water, debris, or fuel cannot be recycled.

Used Oil contains heavy metals and other toxic contaminants that cause pollution if poured down the drain, on the ground, to surface waters, or dumped in the trash. Recycled oil can be re-refined as lubricating oil again, used as an alternative fuel, or used in the production of asphalt and tar.
