Police Seek Suspect In Friday Night's Fatal Shooting

Breaking: The shooting happened near The Honda Center.

ORANGE, CA — Police Saturday are looking for the gunman, and the white pickup truck he was seen traveling in, wanted for the fatal shooting of a man in Orange's Stadium Promenade parking lot. Police responded to a shots fired call just after 6 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of West Katella Avenue near Main Street, said Orange police Sgt. Phil McMullin.

Responding officers found the wounded man and he was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, McMullin said. The suspect was last seen fleeing north on Main Street in the white truck, according to McMullin.

"Homicide detectives are processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses," McMullin said. "It does not appear to be gang related." The shooting occurred when many restaurants in that area were packed with Anaheim Ducks fans watching the telecast of the Stanley Cup Playoffs game from the nearby Honda Center, KCAL9 reported. Witnesses told KCAL9 they saw a man running after another man with a gun.
