Recycle Your Christmas Tree In Fountain Valley

After the holidays are over, those Christmas trees become a fire hazard. Here is how to properly recycle your tree.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — O Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, it's time to recycle you, you see! Dried out trees are a fire hazard, and it's time to make room for all of your new Christmas haul.

Thanks to the folks at Republic Services your tree can be picked up curbside. Remember, following the Christmas holiday, your trash pick up is on holiday schedule, with your trash pickup the day after your regular pickup day.

From January 2 through January 12, Republic Services will recycle non-artificial Christmas trees placed at the curb for collection. Flocked trees are not accepted. Collected trees are shredded into ground cover material and mulch to avoid disposal at the landfill.
