Snapchat-Seen 'Firearm' Incites Los Amigos High School Lockdown
When officials thought they saw a handgun in a post featuring a Los Amigos student's backpack, the school was placed on lockdown, police say

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — Los Amigos High School was placed on temporary lockdown, Thursday, as officials sought out a teen they suspected was carrying a firearm at school.
On April 27, at just before 11:30 a.m. officers responded to Los Amigos High School regarding a student possibly possessing a firearm, Fountain Valley police said.
"A student received a photo, via Snapchat, of what appeared to be a firearm inside a backpack," Fountain Valley Police Sergeant Tony Luce. "The school was placed on lockdown while the report was investigated."

The item, which was discovered to be a replica firearm, was located and the lockdown was lifted after approximately 40 minutes, police said.
An unnamed 17-year-old Los Amigos High School student was arrested in connection with this investigation. It is unknown as of this report if the firearm was in working condition, or if the student intended to use it to cause harm.
